Danielle Lamberti :

Artist Statement

Danielle is a Painter and an Illustrator who resides in Brooklyn, New York. Born in 1983, she was raised in a in a typical “Italian” household where she would draw from a young age. She has worked on both commercial and fine art projects. She started out by designing licensing products for Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. She then began to really think about fine art during her internship for Jonathan Levine Gallery in Chelsea, NY. She assisted installing art works for Jeff Soto, Tim Biskup and Camille Rose Garcia. Her art is now inspired from her all girl catholic school education, These are girls from all over the five boroughs of New York City. They all have their various nationalities and customs as well. In Italian “Bimba’s” and “Pupa’s” mean dolls. This is what she often calls her characters. Everything from her palette to her characters has meaning within each individual piece. With subtle icons that have hidden messages, they just don’t look "pretty.”
